A convenience store in a Cumbrian town has been sold to new owners.

Christie & Co managed the sale of the Mace branded convenience store on Main Street, Keswick.

Scott Harper, who owned the store for 15 years, sold it to pursue new business interests.

He said: “I’ve enjoyed serving our customers here in Keswick.

"Being a small town, the store is relied upon by many in the community, and I wish the incoming operators every success in running their new business.”

Ashley Cobban, business agent at Christie & Co, said: “It’s rare that a thriving convenience store comes to the market in such a desirable location.

"With that in mind, it’s unsurprising that the Mace in Keswick received numerous expressions of interest, a multitude of viewings, and subsequently multiple offers.

"We’re pleased to have found a suitable buyer for the business and wish Scott good luck with his future plans.”

The store was sold on a leasehold basis off an asking price of £140,000.
