Cumbria County Council runs a number of household waste recycling centres where residents can take uncollected waste while some Allerdale council collections are suspended.
Workington’s centre, on Solway Road, accepts garden waste, along with glass jars and bottles.
The Maryport centre, on Glasson Industrial Estate, accepts garden waste, glass jars and bottles, plastics, food tins and drinks cans.
Wigton’s centre, at Syke Park Industrial Estate, also allows people to drop off garden waste, glass jars and bottles, plastics, food tins and drinks cans.
Garden waste and glass jars and bottles can also be dropped off at the centre at Yeathouse Quarry in Frizington.
The Workington, Maryport and Frizington sites are open daily from 8am to 6pm.
Wigton’s site is open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 6pm.
