Firefighters dashed to an early morning fire between Longtown and Brampton.
Just after 3.30 am, a crew from Brampton, attempted to tackle the farm trailer blaze.
But, Longtown Station was called about 4am to assist with the trailer fire.
A spokesman for the rescue teams said: "Crews from Brampton and Longtown attended a farm trailer which had set on fire due to a mechanical issue.
"The crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and were on scene for around 50 minutes."
Longtown Station was called again at 6.30am to a barn fire at Easton.
The crew were helped by Newcastleton Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesman from Longtown station added: "We put out a straw and muck stack fire in a building and were stood down at 10.30am."
