Police, collision investigators, ambulance and air ambulance teams rushed to a Carlisle street to deal with a serious crash.
It is unclear what caused a patient to be treated on Denton Street, but eye witnesses have reported seeing both an air ambulance and police helicopter land nearby.
One witness said: "I realised something was unusual and then I came round the corner to this."
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene shortly after 6pm.
Police have closed off Denton Street both ways while emergency services deal with the scene.
