A SIX-week curfew has been placed on a 39-year-old Carlisle woman who has admitted driving while unfit through drugs.

Janice Edgar, of Dale End Road, Harraby, committed the offence on April 17.

Court papers do not specify which drug was involved.

But at the time of the offence, Edgar was driving a red Vauxhall Astra along Junction Street, Carlisle.

After hearing details of the case, magistrates sitting at the city's Rickergate court imposed a community order, with a six week 8pm to 6am curfew which will be electronically monitored.

It will run until September 23.

Edgar was also given a two year driving ban.

The defendant must also pay £85 prosecution costs and a victim surcharge of the same amount.
