A West Cumbrian man was fined £65 after he admitted shoplifting £4 worth of items.

Dylan Bawn, 33, of Jefferson Park, Whitehaven, appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday.

The court heard Bawn had stolen the items from Aldi in Whitehaven on March 30.

District Judge Gerald Chalk ordered him to pay the fine, as well as to compensate the shop.

Bawn must also pay £85 costs and £30 surcharge to fund victim services.
