Firefighters from Carlisle rushed to deal with a van fire on the outskirts of the city.
Just after 6pm crews from Carlisle west station had a report of a Mercedes Sprinter on fire.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: "We were called out to a vehicle fire at 6.15pm, the van was smoking on arrival.
"We found where the smoke was coming from and made it safe."
Crews were in attendance for about 30 minutes.
