History: Locals Chris Gill and John Butterfield came up with the idea of Fellpack while cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats. They were living in London and looking for a way to move back to the fells and create a business and lifestyle for themselves that also benefitted the area. Local photographer James Appleton, head chef Paul Sanchez and his wife Ellie came on board, and Fellpack on Lake Road opened in June 2017. The Round opened earlier this year.

In their own words: We’re a friendly and outdoorsy bunch who will always greet you with a smile and a natter about your day on the fells.

We like to think we’ve created an intimate and lively atmosphere, where you can rest your hill-weary legs in front of some adventure videography; while away the hours with family on the sun terrace or catch up with friends over local ales, creative cocktails and flavour-packed food.”
