A WEEK-LONG craft fair will take over the Moot Hall in Brampton from Monday.

Local crafters will show-off their hard work in the Moot Hall from October 28 until November 3.

The annual fair usually takes place at Kirklinton Hall but Sarah Nicholson, who organises the fairs, decided to move it into the Moot Hall this year to show her support for the parish council.

She said: “Because of the weather situation, you just don’t know what the weather is going to be like and it can get a bit drafty in there.

“We haven’t got quite as many crafters, I have managed to get 16 into the hall.

This is the third year that Sarah has organised the craft fair although she runs a smaller craft fair every Wednesday in the Moot Hall.

“I’ve been doing crafting things for about 20 years now and this craft fair has been running for the past three years now,” commented Sarah.

“I was going to do a bigger one but I just decided that I support our parish council because they support me by doing a Wednesday one every week.

“I thought it would be good for them because it’s revenue for them and it’s good for me as well.

Christmas is quickly approaching so this is an opportunity to buy a meaningful gift and to support local businesses at the same time.

Crafts and artwork that will be on display include rustic and veneer wooden items, jewellery, felted items, knitted items, and stained glass work.

For food lovers, there will also be delicious cakes and jam.

It will run daily in the Moot Hall for the week between 10am and 5pm.
