Vandals started a fire on a wooden bridge in a community garden of a Carlisle suburb.
A fire crew from the city was called out at 8.30pm last night to put out the fire, on a bridge in Isobel Garden off Westrigg Road, Morton.
"It was a deliberate rubbish fire," said a spokesman for Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service.
The 10ft long bridge suffered minor damage.
The crew put out the fire using buckets of water.
