ATTRACTING CROWDS: The star-studded line-up includes East 17 and Max George
EXCITEMENT is building for the mayor of Carlisle, Marilyn Bowman to flick the switch to light up Carlisle this weekend meaning the official countdown to Christmas is on.
The event which takes place on Sunday has a star-studded line-up of people to keep the crowds entertained all afternoon.
On the build up to the switch-on the celebrity line-up will include UK pop band East 17 and Max George; most known for his part in boyband The Wanted.
Local community groups and performers including local singer Joe Hurst will join celebrity acts at this year's event, hosted by comedian Barbara Nice; ITV Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist.
Mrs Bowman will trigger a galaxy of lights in the city centre at 5pm.
