Police are appealing for witnesses after a girl was run over in Penrith.
Emergency services were called just after 4pm yesterday after a vehicle hit a child.
The girl is currently in hospital with head injuries.
A spokesman for Cumbria police said: "We are currently investigating a road traffic collision involving a van and a child."
It happened between Lady Anne Court to Tynefield Court and the road was closed for several hours.
Officers described the girl's injuries as 'none life-threatening'.
