Carlisle United have confirmed details for their annual family fun day which is being held at Brunton Park next month.

In a change from previous years, the club have arranged their 2019 event to coincide with one of their pre-season friendlies.

From 11am on Saturday, July 20, there will be a range of stalls and activities, while manager Steven Pressley and his players will be attending.

That is ahead of the afternoon's home friendly against Fleetwood, which kicks off at 3pm.

The fun day has typically been held on a Sunday in previous years. Blues chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: "We thought we would try and do something different to freshen it up, and we hope it will encourage more people to stay and come to the game - especially youngsters."

United say Pressley and players will be available for photos and autographs from 11.30-1pm.

There will also be an organised signing session where fans can meet the squad.

The club's finance director Suzanne Kidd added: "We have found in previous years that there were a number of events in the city and region which clashed, which is why we have once again tried to find something a little bit different.

“We've invited local businesses and club sponsors to the event and we still welcome requests from anyone who would like to attend the day with their business, activity or group. "

United are also inviting young Fleetwood fans to take part in a pre-match friendly againsy young Blues fans on the training pitch, organised by the club's community sports trust.

Entry to the fun day is free.

Tickets, meanwhile, have gone on sale for Carlisle's first pre-season friendly against Hibernian on Tuesday, July 9 (7.45pm).

United have said only the Paddock and main stand will be open to home fans. Away supporters will be in the Pioneer Stand.

Tickets are priced £10 (adults), £5 (seniors / 16 and under).
