A drug dealer from Eltham found with his trousers down has been sentence to another year in prison.

Michael Peters, 27, was pulled over in Gravesend town centre in November last year and went on to provide a false identity before officers uncovered 45 wraps of class A drugs.

Peters, formerly of Eltham Green Road, pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply, obstructing a constable in their duty and driving a vehicle without insurance.

He was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on March 21, having previously been sentenced to four years and three months in December 2018 for unrelated charges of supplying crack cocaine and heroin.

His new one-year sentence will be served consecutively.

The court heard that on November 9, Kent Police officers on patrol pulled over a car being driven in Windmill Street.

The stop was made after officers received information suggesting the car was involved in supplying class A drugs and when they went to speak with Peters, who was the only occupant, they noticed his trousers were sitting unusually low beneath his waist.

This prompted suspicions he had hidden something down them and a search uncovered a burner phone and £135 in cash.

Peters was taken to North Kent police station for a further search in custody and this led to a package containing 45 wraps of class A drugs being found on him.

These wraps consisted of heroin and crack cocaine and an inspection of his phone found numerous text messages relating to the supply of drugs.

During the arrest he gave officers false details and his lying was uncovered three days later, when investigators learned he was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court for an unrelated case.

Peters was promptly arrested and has been held on remand since.
