SUNRISE, Fla. -Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General ManagerDale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Sam Montembeault from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Montembeault, 22, has appeared in 36 games for Springfield, owning a 13-14-7 record, a 3.17 goals against average, .900 save percentage and one shutout. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound native of Becancour, Quebec, represented Springfield at the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic.
Over his first two professional seasons, Montembeault has appeared in 77 career AHL games, posting a 26-37-10 mark, 3.21 goals against average, .898 save percentage and three shutouts.
He was originally selected by Florida in the third round (77th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Additionally, goaltender Roberto Luongo will be away from the team on bereavement leave.
