Looking for a job? These retail companies are hiring in New Jersey

Over 1 million New Jersey workers have filed unemployment claims as the coronavirus pandemic continues to take a toll on the economy.

There are, however, many companies looking to hire across the U.S., including in the Garden State.

Here is a roundup of some companies hiring if you’re looking for work.

Amazon

Full-time and part-time fulfillment and delivery positions are available across the U.S. To view all New Jersey opportunities, click here.

Seasonal employees have the chance to become full-time, as well. The company announced 125,000 of its 175,000 temporary employees hired since March can transition into a permanent role. Pay is at least $15 an hour.

Costco

Costco has various job listings on its website but warns some or all may not be available depending on the store location. Those interested in exploring the listings can do so by going here.

Dunkin'

Dunkin’ announced its franchisees nationwide are seeking to hire up to 25,000 employees. Jobs being offered include counter service and restaurant management. Those who are interested can apply on Dunkin’s website.

Jersey Shore boardwalks

Gov. Phil Murphy announced Tuesday that amusement parks can reopen starting July 2, which means many Jersey Shore attractions are looking for summer workers.

Among them:

--Morey’s Piers in Wildwood is looking to hire 500 employees. Pay would be around $12 an hour.

--Jenkinson’s in Point Pleasant Beach is looking for ride operators, arcade attendants, ropes course workers and maintenance mechanics.

--Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach in Seaside Heights is seeking operators for its amusement park rides and arcade games.

Lowe’s

Lowe’s states on its website it’s “hiring for critical roles across our stores, including immediate part-time, full-time and short-term positions.” To explore all job opportunities across the state, click here.

ShopRite

ShopRite has job openings listed on its website and is accepting applications for jobs across the state. Anyone interested can explore all job opportunities here.

Six Flags Great Adventure

The amusement park giant is hiring game operators, retail workers, food service workers, ride operators, park service workers, security and lifeguards. You can apply and explore the job descriptions here.

Starbucks

The coffee giant has job openings in several locations listed on its website. Anyone interested can explore all job opportunities here.

Subway

The sandwich franchise announced plans to hire about 50,000 employees across its U.S. and Canada restaurants. Anyone interested can apply at subway.com/careers.

Target

Target is hiring across the state, and anyone interested can explore all job opportunities here. Target also recently announced it will permanently raise its starting wage to $15 per hour.

The Home Depot

The Home Depot’s website indicates the company is hiring full and part-time seasonal associates across the state. Anyone interested can explore all job opportunities here.

Walmart

There has been no direct hiring announcement, but it appears Walmart, as well as its Sam’s Club stores, are hiring across the state based on its website. Anyone interested can explore all job opportunities here.

Wegmans

Wegmans is hiring cashiers, culinary workers, pharmacy technicians and more across the state. Anyone interested can explore all job opportunities here.
