Brickwall Tavern permanently closes Burlington location

Casual restaurant Brickwall Tavern and Dining Room announced in a Facebook post it has permanently closed its Burlington spot after five years in business.

It was located at 19 East Union St., a building that used to be a firehouse.

The Facebook post hinted the coronavirus pandemic is to blame for the closure, stating it is an “incredibly difficult time for restaurants across the country.”

The restaurant’s original location opened in 2006 in Asbury Park at 522 Cookman Ave. before expanding to Burlington in 2015.

The Asbury Park location remains open and is offering outdoor dining, according to its website.

There’s also a Brickwall Tavern and Dining Room in Philadelphia.

Other small businesses that have recently shuttered during the pandemic are Brummer’s Chocolates and Harold’s Kosher Market.
