N.J. man gunned down in Delaware apartment

A New Jersey man was shot to death in a southern Delaware apartment on Thursday night.

Officers responded to an apartment on Park Brown Road in Harrington shortly after 11:30 p.m. and found the victim, a 24-year-old Absecon resident, at the bottom of an interior staircase, according to the Delaware State Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead a short time later at a nearby hospital.

The victim has not been identified and no details about a possible suspect were released.

State police took over the investigation at the request of the Harrington Police Department, officials said.
