Authorities search for shooter who killed 30-year-old man in Newark

A 30-year-old man was shot in Newark last week and no arrests have been made, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday.

Shaquan Hatcher-Turner, 30, of Newark, was fatally shot on the 600 block of South 19th Street on Sept. 27 around 3:10 p.m., authorities said. He was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m., authorities said.

The Essex County Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Division are still investigating.
