Shooting leaves 27-year-old man dead in Newark

A 27-year-old East Orange man was gunned down Wednesday in Newark, authorities said.

Marquis Forman died at an area hospital after he was shot around 7:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Springfield Avenue, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

Authorities said there were no arrests and the prosecutor’s office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes Newark detectives, was investigating.
