Katie Meyer, Executive Director of Renaissance Covington, announced today that after nine years of service to the organization she is resigning to pursue new opportunities.

Meyer is a fifth-generation Covingtonian, graduate of Covington Latin, the University of Kentucky and The New School in New York. She worked the Kentucky Housing Corporation before bringing her urban policy and neighborhood revitalization skills closer to home.
Upon becoming the Renaissance Manager in 2010, Meyer worked under the City of Covington purview, before moving Renaissance Covington from a City program to an independent 501c3 nonprofit located at 2 Pike Street.
In her tenure as director, Meyer spearheaded numerous efforts on behalf of Renaissance Covington to aid in the revitalization of downtown Covington. Among these were the Covington Farmers Market, Shop Small Initiatives, Free Public WiFi, the Curb’d Parklets and the Covington Night Bazaar among dozens of other projects and activations.
In 2017, Main Street America recognized Renaissance Covington with the Great American Main Street Award. Additionally, Meyer and Renaissance Covington have been a valued partner to numerous organizations in the city, including the City of Covington, Covington Business Council and The Center for Great Neighborhoods among numerous others.

“I’ve spent nearly nine years in my role as Renaissance Manager and later Executive Director of Renaissance Covington,” Meyer said. “ Over the course of those years, I’ve worked with hundreds, maybe thousands, of passionate individuals who all believed in our community and a stronger future for our city. It’s been the joy of a lifetime to see our downtown progress and evolve, breathing new life into our historic buildings, creating jobs, and staying true to our legacy of arts, inclusion, and small business growth.” says Meyer.
Staring in January 2019, Meyer will be taking a new position as the Smart Cities Policy Advisor for Cincinnati Bell/CBTS, utilizing her skills to shepherd further integration of technology, mission-driven policy opportunities, and internet access throughout the region and beyond.
The Renaissance Covington Board of Directors will be seeking a new Executive Director and a job posting will be listed in January 2019. In the interim, Meyer will stay on in an advisory capacity as the Renaissance Staff and Board of Directors manage the organization until the position is filled.
