WAYNE — A Newark man faces multiple drug-related offenses after a late-night traffic stop on Tuesday, police said.
Jaqua Clayton, 19, was being held in Passaic County Jail after he was pulled over by Patrolman Joseph Cobianchi at 2:05 a.m., said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.
The officer saw Clayton's 2009 Mercedes-Benz swerve across the double-yellow line and stopped him at Preakness Avenue and Valley Road, the captain said.
Inside the car, Martin said, were 46 oxycodone pills, raw marijuana, a pill bottle with its label torn off, three cigarillos rolled with marijuana, unregistered New Jersey license plates and $1,857 in cash.
Clayton was charged with driving with a suspended license, having fictitious license plates, possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
