Strong winds cause flight delays at Newark and LaGuardia airports

New Jersey and New York area airports reported flight delays due to strong winds on Wednesday.

The strong afternoon winds caused multiple flight delays at Newark Liberty International Airport and LaGuardia Airport.

Newark Airport warned passengers via Twitter that buses would be replacing the AirTrain, which was impacted by the wind. Inbound flights were delayed an average of 1.5 hours, according to FlightAware.

LaGuardia Airport reported average inbound flight delays of an hour and 20 minutes, according to FlightAware.
