Maryland finally found its new wrestling coach.

The school announced the hiring of Alex Clemsen, who had been the associate head coach at Missouri for the last four years, on Tuesday.

The hiring ends a search that lasted more than a month and saw Rutgers assistant Donny Pritzlaff and Lock Haven coach Scott Moore turn down the position.

"We're thrilled to name Alex Clemsen as our next head wrestling coach," Maryland athletic director Damon Evans said in a release. "Alex is coming to Maryland after spending five years at Missouri, where he was instrumental in producing numerous All-Americans and NCAA Champions. His dedication to developing student-athletes both on and off the mat will serve him well as the leader of our program. It is an exciting time for the Maryland wrestling program."

Maryland and Rutgers joined the Big Ten together in the 2014-15 school year. They've wrestled against each other each year since joining the conference, with Rutgers winning all five times.
