AN evening of traditional instruments, vibrant dances and voices from around the world look set to brighten up Bangor.

The One World Gala, is being held at Bangor University, Main Arts building, on Friday, March 15.

The annual event, which has been running for 10 years, is organised by the university's International Student Support Office.

It aims to celebrate and promote the cultural diversity of the university and its local community.

In previous years, there have been performances from various international and home students, staff, clubs and societies at Bangor and local bands.

Rajalakshmi Madhavan, a psychology student from India who performed in 2017, said: "The One World Gala gave me an opportunity to showcase our cultural and traditional dance to the students and residents of Bangor.

"I also got a chance to witness the aspects and dances of other people's cultures, and that is what I absolutely loved about the event.

"It was energising and bright, and power packed, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it."

This year the gala will support the Croseso Menai charity.

The event is free and being held at the PJ Hall, Main Arts building, Bangor University.

The doors open at 6:30pm with performances starting at 7pm.
