Two Nottinghamshire fire crews were spotted at a Nottingham Currys PC World after reports of a "strong burning smell".

Crews from Arnold and Stockhill were called to the electronics shop, just off Mansfield Road, in Daybrook, at 7.29pm.

A spokeswoman at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue's Control Room said the crews had been called to a "strong burning smell" coming from a light fitting inside the store.

There was no initial indication of a fire after crews investigated the fitting.

An eyewitness told Nottinghamshire Live that staff in the store had been evacuated while firefighters entered the building to investigate.

The store was closed to the public at the time crews were called.
