Earlier crash on Valley Road causing congestion

Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed reports of a crash on Valley Road, Arnold.

“Officers were called at 3.00pm on Friday, March 22 following reports of a collision involving two vehicles on Valley Road in Arnold.

“No injuries have been reported.”

Traffic monitoring site Inrix have said that one lane was blocked by a vehicle involved, which has now been removed.

Emergency services have now left the scene and all lanes have been re-opened but traffic is slow.

There is congestion affecting the Hucknall Road roundabout for City Hospital.

Hucknall man charged with cashpoint robbery

Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that a 35-year-old man has been charged with robbery and theft following a cashpoint robbery.

Paul Rodgers of Cherry Avenue in Hucknall was arrested Thursday, March 21 in connection with a cashpoint robbery in Hucknall town centre on the Friday, March 1.

He is also charged with a theft from Aldi in Bulwell from the Friday, March 15 where he stole a quantity of alcohol.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, March 23.

Man arrested in connection with robberies

A 21-year-old man has been arrested today in connection with two robberies and a public order incident in 2018.

Officers made the arrest in Beech Avenue, Basford, this morning, following an extensive investigation to trace the man in relation to the incidents.

Robberies were in Booth Close, Nottingham, Park Street, Lenton and the public order incident in Sellers Wood Drive, Bulwell

Harrowing footage shows a man armed with a machete in the middle of a Nottingham tram line.

Police are appealing for information after the incident was captured by a University of Nottingham student from her flat window in Noel Street.

Police received a call at 9pm on Thursday, March 21, that a group of men entered a house and stole a bike in Gregory Boulevard in Hyson Green.

Firearm arrests after 'loud bangs' are heard in Balderton

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm after ‘loud bangs’ were heard near Newark.

Police are investigating a number of bangs in Balderton in the early hours of Friday, March 22.

A window was smashed in the incident in Lacey Green at around 1am.

Man who burgled homes used bank cards at McDonald's

A late night burglar was locked up for raiding two homes and leaving sleeping families in shock.

After the offences, 19-year-old Jake Shaw went to McDonald’s cafés with friends and bought food with stolen bank cards, a court heard.

He already had 22 offences on his criminal record as Recorder Simon King sent him into a young offenders’ institution for three years and six months.

And he warned Shaw: “Unless you take steps to turn your life around, things are going to get worse and worse.

“We see in the courts people getting into trouble time and time again. They find it very difficult to get out of that cycle. You will have to wait a while before you have your liberty to start that change.

  • M1 is not looking great this morning between J20 and J21 (Lutterworth to Leicester) following an earlier crash. The junction will remain closed. There are 30 minute delays on the approach spanning two miles back to J19. Average speeds on the approach to J20 are 15 mph. Please use the A403, A5, M69 for the north. Full details and updates here

Police issue early morning appeal after attempted robbery

Officers are appealing for information and witnesses following an attempted robbery in Beeston that happened earlier this month.

The incident happened in High Street at 6.50pm on March 7.

The suspect is believed to have tried to steal a motorcycle from the victim, before the victim has fled the scene.

The offender has been described as a white man, believed to be 20-years-old, blue eyes, slim build, freckles and wearing a light grey jacket, grey trousers and a baseball cap. If you have any information please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 787 of 7 March 2019.
