A broken down lorry caused severe tailbacks on Western Boulevard in Nottingham.

The lorry broke down at the junction with Beechdale Road.

The city council's Travelwise account said all southbound lanes were affected, and severe congestion was building along Western Boulevard.

Drivers are being urged to use an alternative route.

Nottingham City Transport has said its Pink 28 and Grey 53 routes are being delayed by the breakdown.

The broken down lorry was removed from the carriageway by 9.51am.
