Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles has been linked with a move to join Lazio.

The Italian giants are said to be keen on the 25-year-old and, according to website OneFootball, are plotting a 'big money move' this summer.

The report also claims that Lazio are keen to land Arsenal defender Callum Chambers as they look to bolster their defensive options.

Lazio have historic form for attracting English players. In 1992, the Rome club signed Tottenham Hotspur and England legend Paul Gascoigne and more recently Ex-West Ham United and Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison.

Born in Derby, Lascelles made 67 appearances for the Reds over four years at the City Ground, including a season returning on loan after completing his move to the North East.

But the centre-back is contracted at St. James’ Park until 2024 after first penning a six year deal upon his arrival.

He is not the first Englishman to be linked with a move from the Premier League to Serie A this summer with Spurs defender Kieran Trippier reportedly being chased by Napoli and Juventus.
