Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi explains visits to watch games at Reading and Wolves

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi has spent time on the road in the past few days, as he continues to get to grips with English football.

The Frenchman has previously been in charge of the Ivory Coast national team, Qatari outfit El Jaish and Rennes, in France, with the Reds representing his first taste of the Championship.

He says he is keen to watch as many games as possible in this country, to help further his understanding as he looks to mount a promotion push at the City Ground.

And he took in Reading’s 3-0 home defeat of Cardiff City on Sunday, followed by Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester United at Molineux the following day.

“I was at the Reading v Cardiff game on Sunday and then at a Premier League game,” Lamouchi said.

“I just wanted to feel the atmosphere and I want to watch maximum games.

“I just went for pleasure.”

The Reds have four points to show for their first three league games under Lamouchi, having recorded their first win with a 3-0 demolition of Birmingham City on Saturday.

The Forest boss says watching other matches allows him to see whether he needs to adapt his own preferred style.

“I just want to understand English football, and especially the Championship as soon as possible,” he added.

“I want to do that quickly because my way, my philosophy may be a little bit different.

“I need to adapt myself. I need to understand what we need to do and what can happen in all the Championship games.”
