Nottingham Forest have been predicted to finish OUTSIDE of the Championship play-off places.

The Reds currently sit in seventh place, one point shy of the play-offs with rivals Derby County currently occupying the final top-six spot.

Aitor Karanka's side are currently on a four-match unbeaten run after last weekend's stalemate with Stoke City.

And the Reds are being backed by respected statistics website FiveThirtyEight, whose model takes into account a host of factors before forecasting their predicted final Championship table.

Forest are tipped to finish in tenth place, four points out from the play-off places come the end of the season.

According to the model the Championship is expected to be as tight as ever, with sixth-placed Villa tied on 69 points with Derby and Stoke but edging the pair on goal difference.

Swansea are expected to finish one place above Forest, three points clear of the Reds.

Middlesbrough are predicted to win the league, followed by Leeds.
