The Reds make the short journey up the M1 looking to make it two wins in a week against opposition from South Yorkshire.

After coming through a tough 1-0 victory over Sheffield United on Monday at the Nigel Doughty Academy, the Reds face Barnsley at Oakwell this afternoon (2pm).

A win for Jimmy Gilligan’s Reds would see them leapfrog the Tykes and move onto 28 points in the Professional Development League table, closing the gap on United above them.

Monday’s clash with the Blades saw Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane watch on as Liam Bridcutt, Jamie Ward, Arvin Appiah and new signing Pele all featured, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on the team news this afternoon.

Barry Cooper will be at the Tykes’ Oakwell training ground and will bring you live coverage of all the action.

Hard to suggest either side deserved to win that. Tough game on a terrible playing surface. That’s four points this week from games against Sheffield United and away here, so you’d take that.

What a goal that is from Victor Sodeinde. He gets the ball at his feet, drives into the box and as the keeper comes out to his feet, rifles a shot into the roof of the net. 1-1, lovely finish. Game on.
