The Championship season is in full swing as clubs rest up ahead of another busy weekend of action.

It's the mid-way point in a brutal week that will see teams play three matches in seven days.

In the opening four fixtures, we've already seen a flurry of surprising result, which the division is famed for.

As a result, it's telling that no side has a 100% record heading into matchday four, whilst only Leeds United, Swansea City, West Brom and Millwall remain unbeaten.

With that in mind, some clubs will still be assessing their squads, working out where they may need to strengthen in January.

With League One and Two clubs still able to trade, we could even see some departures from the second tier before the month is out.

Here is a round-up of all the latest news and gossip from the Championship.

Ayew to stay at Swansea

Andre Ayew is set to stay at Swansea City and won't leave the club before the end of the European transfer window.

The Ghanian winger has been brought in from the cold by Steve Cooper and has impressed in the Championship this season.

According to Footballghana.com, the 29-year-old has now confirmed he will stay at the club this season.

The Swans have started the season in red-hot form and sit second in the table after four matches.

Ndiaye's future 'up in the air'

Badou Ndiaye's future at Stoke City is in doubt after Turkish champions Galatasaray signed the Potters' forme midfielder Steven Nzonzi.

The Frenchman has joined the club on a season-long loan from AS Roma.

The further complication is that they were also linked with Stoke's outcast Ndiaye, which now puts his move in doubt.

Ndiaye spent last season on loan at Galatasaray but it appears the club have opted for Nzonzi instead.

Arter desperate for Fulham stay

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter has revealed he's desperate to stay with Fulham beyond this season.

The combative midfielder joined the Cottagers on a season-long loan, which will become permanent if they secure promotion to the Premier League.

Speaking to Standard Sport, Arter confirmed he's "desperate" to stay at Craven Cottage "for the next few years".

Scott Parker's side have made a strong start to the new season with nine points from their opening four fixtures.

Penney to reunite with former Wednesday boss

Matt Penney looks set to be reunited with former manager Jos Luhukay, according to reports in Germany.

The Owls boss, who gave Penney his break in the first team, is now the head coach at St Pauli, a second-division outfit in Germany.

Penney is yet to feature for Lee Bullen's side this season and looks likely to leave the club on loan before the window shuts.

The 21-year-old's contract expires in the summer, making this a make-or-break year for the young defender.
