The Championship season is in full swing as clubs prepare for their first midweek round of fixtures this season.

It's the beginning of a brutal week that will see teams play three matches in seven days.

In the opening three fixtures, we've already seen a flurry of surprising result, which the division is famed for.

As a result, it's telling that no side had a 100 percent record heading into matchday four.

With that in mind, some clubs will still be assessing their squads, working out where they may need to strengthen in January.

With League One and Two clubs still able to trade, we could even see some departures from the second tier before the month is out.

Here is a round-up of all the latest news and gossip from the Championship.

Leeds target permanent Harrison switch

Jack Harrison's strong start to the Championship season could see him make a permanent switch to Leeds United, according to Football Insider.

The Whites re-signed the winger on loan from Manchester City this summer, which contains an option to buy.

His impressive form in pre-season and in the opening weeks of the campaign are convincing United's hierarchy they should make the investment, especially if they're promoted in May.

Harrison is a go-to pick for Marcelo Bielsa down the left and has made remarkable improvements under the Argentine coach.

Birmingham target free agent

Spanish full-back Alberto Redondo is on Birmingham City's radar, according to reports.

Media outlet Foot Mercato claim the free agent is wanted by Blues and Queens Park Rangers following his release from Getafe.

The La Liga club decided against extending Redondo's deal after their shock Europa League qualification last season - and now Championship clubs are circling.

Pep Clotet told BirminghamLive previously how the club is still very much in the free-agent market following the closure of the summer transfer window.

Leeds' White bid rebuffed

Leeds United's attempts to sign Ben White permanently from Brighton & Hove Albion has been rejected, according to Football Insider.

It has been revealed that United wanted to include the option to buy White before he joined on loan, but the Seagulls rejected that notion.

The Englishman is highly rated at the Amex Stadium and Graham Potter is keen to integrate him into the first team over time.

The former Swansea boss has adopted a back three this season which should suit White, given his ability on the ball.
