A one day event that mixes family activities with nostalgic fun is to return to Nottingham at the end of August.

Along with fairground rides, craft workshops, dance lessons and face painting, The Vintage Carnival will include a classic car display, vintage clothes stalls, live music, street food, real ale and gin, as well as a pop up hair and beauty salon.

It'll be the fourth year for the all-dayer at Nottingham Racecourse, which is organised by Lou Lou’s Vintage Fairs, the three times winner of the Best Vintage Fair in the UK.

It regularly attracts around 5,000 people but organiser Louise Glover thinks that this year's event on Saturday, August 31 will be the biggest yet. And she looks forward to seeing more people dressed to the nines.

"It’s great to see so many Nottingham people turn out in their best vintage outfits," she says.

"There’s a big vintage-loving crowd in Nottingham, but the event also draws in families and people who are completely new to vintage. I think we can all appreciate a sense of nostalgia and a bit of good old-fashioned fun.”
