The Arkansas Elite Prospect Camp has concluded and at least one new offer was extended.

Weatherford (Okla.) Class of 2021 two-way end Ethan Downs, 6-4, 237, was offered a scholarship following the camp.

Downs also holds offers from such schools as Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Baylor, Iowa State and others.

Fast Linebacker

Bentonville Class of 2021 linebacker Cole Joyce, 6-0, 209, won the Fastest Man competition for the linebackers.

Joyce was impressive at the camp. He was one of several talented linebackers working at camp.

Among the others were Joe T. Robinson’s JT Towers, 6-3, 203, who is 2020; Arlington (Texas) Martin’s Morice Blackwell II, 6-2, 187, 2021; Little Rock Christian’s Corey Platt Jr., 6-0, 189, 2021; Forrest City’s Marcus Avant, 6-2, 195, 2021; Plano (Texas) High’s Cody Crist, 6-1, 201, 2020; Mater Dei (Calif) High’s David Bailey, 6-4. 219, 2022; Searcy’s Damaceo Whittier, 5-11, 263, 2020; Arlington (Texas) James Bowie’s Jarin Johnson, 6-1. 196, 2020; and Euless Trinity’s Zion Fonua, 6-0, 235, 2020.

Former Hogs

Former Arkansas wide receiver Shannon Sidney is now a coach in the Mater Dei (Calif.) school system.

‘In addition to Bailey, he brought six other prospects to the camp.

Brett Shockley is still an assistant at Ouachita Baptist and was present as well.

Like Daddy, Like Son

One of the top 2022 prospects at the camp was Subiaco’s Jackson Cobbs, 6-1, 199. He is the son of former Arkansas great running back Cedric Cobbs.

The younger Cobbs played running back for the Trojans last year moving up the varsity from the ninth-grade team. He worked at wide receiver at the camp and thinks that will be his position going forward.

Commitment Worked

Crockett (Texas) 2020 tight end Allen Horace is committed to Arkansas. Despite being committed he worked at the camp on Saturday.

He looked good and showed why the Hogs offered him. Mena 2021 tight end Mason Brotherton, 6-4, 235, also looked good. Another good tight end was Memphis (Tenn.) University 2021 standout Gavin McKay, 6-4, 201.
