New Jersey therapist at private high school busted for having sexual relationship with student: officials

A therapist at a New Jersey private high school was busted by cops who accused her of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Tara Cardinale, 39, invited an underage Paramus student to her home in Washington Township “on more than one occasion,” according to a statement released by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Tuesday.

During those visits, authorities said, they engaged in “sexual activity.”

Prosecutors said police were contacted regarding Cardinale’s sexual relationship with the student on Dec. 29th. She was arrested Friday and was hit with multiple charges, including criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

The prosecutor’s office did not specify which high school she worked at, but court documents revealed the school to be New Alliance Academy in Paramus, according to NJ.com.

The New Alliance Academy declined to comment on the arrest when contacted by the Daily News.

Cardinale is behind bars and is set to appear in court Wednesday.
