“Jersey Shore” star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and willful child endangerment after his arrest for allegedly assaulting girlfriend Jen Harley in California.
Ortiz-Magro, 33, also is facing charges of brandishing a weapon, making criminal threats and resisting arrest, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney told the Daily News Thursday.
The Bronx native faces up to six months in county jail if convicted of the child endangerment charge and up to a year behind bars if convicted of injuring Harley.
Police previously told The News that a taser was used during the wild arrest on Oct. 4.
Sources told TMZ.com that Ortiz-Magro was taken into custody after he allegedly slapped and punched Harley, 33, while they were in town with their 1-year-old daughter, Ariana Sky.
Harley reportedly fled from their rental house during the incident, and Ortiz-Magro allegedly followed her with a knife in one hand and their toddler in the other.
Police later said the child was unharmed in the incident.
Defense lawyer Scott Leemon said he had no immediate comment on the new misdemeanor charges when reached by The News on Thursday.
He said a statement might be released later in the day.
At the time of Ortiz-Magro’s arrest, Leemon called the allegations “pure speculation and innuendo.”
“We are currently conducting our own investigation and will have no further comment until that has been concluded,” he said.
A day before his arrest, Ortiz-Magro appeared with Harley at the West Hollywood launch of his Verge Products CBD line.
“Me and Jen have a strong love for each other,” he told E! News.
“What the show portrays and what we really have for each other are two completely different things. They ask, ‘Why do (you) stay with each other?’ And it’s because we know what we have is real,” he said.
“And at the end of the day, people don’t see what we have, they see what MTV wants you guys to see,” he said.
Ortiz-Magro and Harley have a history of dramatic dust-ups. He previously accused her of hurling an ashtray at his head during a New Year’s Eve trip to a Hustler Club in Vegas.
He filed a police report and posted images showing an injured nose on social media, but prosecutors ultimately dismissed the case over the summer.
