Staff Correspondent Shillong: Four-time Meghalaya Congress legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh did not deny that the Congress party is battered and shattered in course of a telephonic interview with The Sentinel on Monday. She confided of being a Congress person to the core, yet her insinuations was on the on the collective political leadership lethargy to create a platform on taking on with the bulldozing Central Government at this juncture. Ampareen Lyngdoh said, “I am a Congress person who will now have to look for space before the 2023 elections.” Amparteen Lyngdoh spoke on a number of issues confronting the State that her party or the ruling front have been taken lightly. “As a Congress functionary, I have expressed all my concerns but that concern has not been taken in the right forum”, she stated. Ampareen, when asked on whether she is contemplating to leave the Congress, she said, “ We are are part of the Congress, we should know what we want, where do we go and what do we want in one common voice.” “Personally, I have to create a space for 2023. I have spoken to my people and other political friends to ensure that the leadership doing is not in sync with he smaller States”. Pushed further on wheter the conjectures means that she will be leaving the Congress party, the four time Congress legislator said, “ I have 18,000 supporters who are in the mood that they should not be part of a sinking ship”. “Within our organizations we do not have a common voice”, she said.
