The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Chautauqua County invites the public to meet and question the candidates for Dunkirk City Mayor and Dunkirk City Council at 7 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 8 in the courtroom in City Hall. Running for the mayor’s office are Wilfred Rosas and Shaun Heenan. Running for City Council are:

Councilman-at-large — Frank Beach and Paul Vandervouver.

Ward 1 — Dennis Welka and Don Williams

Ward 2 — Martin Bamonto

Ward 3 — James Stoyle and Miriam Lugo Alfaro

Ward 4 — Michael Civiletto and Nancy Nichols

The audience will be able to question candidates for both seats. As is well known, the LWV timekeepers are strict about keeping the candidates’ statements brief so that many members of the audience can ask questions. It is hoped that Meet the Candidates forums will attract lively audiences. As always, these events are free and open to the public.
