With Oregon State’s preseason football camp on Aug. 1 less than a month away, we look at the Beavers’ top 19 players for 2019. A 19-for-’19, if you will. Come back each day for the newest player on this list. We continue with No. 17, cornerback Isaiah Dunn.
NO. 17: ISAIAH DUNN
Physical stats: 6-foot, 183
Year: Junior
Position: Cornerback
How he arrived at OSU: Signed as part of Gary Andersen’s 2017 recruiting class
2018 season: Missed five of the first six games with an injury, Dunn played seven games, starting five. Dunn had 32 tackles and six pass breakups.
Career numbers: 14 games, 10 starts, 60 tackles, 7 pass breakups, no interceptions.
Value to 2019 team: Oregon State needs Dunn on the field for 12 games this season. Simple as that. Which won’t be so simple seeing as Dunn has played one game in September his first two years in Corvallis. Cornerback is one of the Beavers’ thinnest positions heading into preseason camp. During the spring, seven corners missed the final scrimmage. Some of it was precautionary, but still, that’s an alarming number. Dunn heads into the season as the team’s most experienced cornerback, and a good one if, again he stays healthy. Dunn is a solid tackler and covers well, though as a junior the Beavers will be looking for him to upgrade his playmaking skills in the area of takeaways.
