Optimism is high at Oregon State for the 2019-20 men’s basketball season, as the Beavers return three of five starters, including Pac-12 player of the year candidate Tres Tinkle, plus a promising freshman class.

That feeling has not made its way to oddsmakers, who are tabbing the Beavers as a long shot to win the conference title.

According to betonline.ag, Oregon State is 33-1 to win the Pac-12 title this season. Only Washington State has longer odds to win the conference championship.

Oregon State is coming off a fourth-place finish in league play, its best since 1990.

Oregon is the league title favorite at 11-4 odds, followed closely by Arizona at 7-2 and Washington at 4-1.

Oregon State opens the men’s basketball season Nov. 5 against Cal State-Northridge.
