TriMet announced Tuesday that the elevator at the Northeast 60th Avenue MAX station will remain closed for additional work as part of the elevator improvement program and that the start date for work on the Northeast 82nd Avenue MAX station elevator will be delayed. TriMet doesn't want to have more than one elevator closed at a time. The 82nd Avenue station repair was to begin Wednesday.

TriMet is upgrading and/or replacing 19 elevators during a multi-year, $22 million project. The work is being done one station at a time. The work constitutes major construction and each platform elevator will be shut down for approximately 12-14 weeks. Read more about the elevator improvement project here.

Oregon Department of Transportation work on OR 22 has been completed and both lanes of traffic east of Idanha are open. Contractors have finished the environmental cleanup following the deadly crash of a tanker truck in December that was carrying 10,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline.

Crews have been working in the Santiam Canyon for the past two weeks, closing at least one travel lane during the work, to finish the cleanup.

Get ready for the final of three major ramp closures in downtown Portland. The Interstate 84 westbound ramp to Interstate 5 southbound will close beginning 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17. Only one lane of I-84 will be open west of Lloyd Boulevard exit and all traffic will have to connect to area freeways via I-5 northbound. Make plans now to avoid delays in the area.
