Portland metro Monday traffic: Troutdale Bridge closed through the morning for semi crash

Multnomah County Sheriffs responded early Monday morning to a semi truck crash at the Troutdale Bridge. The semi may have tried to access the bridge and not made the turn. The sheriffs expect the bridge to be closed for several hours. Traffic should use I-84 or Southeast Stark Street to cross the Sandy River.

Update 8:24 a.m.; This crash is now cleared. Bridge is open in both directions.

Gusty winds are making driving hazardous for high profile vehicles along Interstate 84 at the west end of the Columbia River Gorge. Semi-trucks, RVs and other tall vehicles are more likely to experience loss of control during high wind gusts. Use caution when traveling near the Gorge on Monday. Gusts are expected to top out at 40-50 mph, but lower gusts in the 30s will be common.
