Oregon 230 is open after being closed since Sunday, Jan. 12, when a winter storm brought heavy snow and downed trees to the High Cascades area.

Warmer weather over the weekend and on Tuesday allowed crews to remove downed trees and groom the highway.

Ten inches of snow has fallen in the area early this week, but crews have been able to keep the road plowed and ready for traffic. Warmer temperatures are expected through the end of the week and should help alleviate travel hazards.

Chains are still required on all vehicles traveling through the corridor. Drivers should monitor Tripcheck.com for up-to-date information.
