Coronavirus in Oregon: No new deaths reported as known cases top 4,200

The Oregon Health Authority on Sunday reported 58 new confirmed and presumptive cases of the coronavirus and no new deaths.

The total number of cases now stands at 4,243. The agency on Sunday reported no new deaths. So far, 153 people in Oregon have died from the illness.

County case totals: The new confirmed and presumptive cases reported Sunday are in the following counties: Clackamas (6), Deschutes (1), Hood River (2), Jackson (1), Jefferson (3), Lane (4), Marion (11), Multnomah (23), Wasco (1), Washington (5) and Yamhill (1).

Testing: So far, 129,093 Oregonians have been tested for the illness since the state confirmed its first case on Feb. 28.

Ages: Cases are so far spread relatively evenly among people in their 20s (16%), people in their 30s (17%), people in their 40s (17%) and people in their 50s (17%).

The breakdown: 0-9 (58), ages 10-19 (169), ages 20-29 (679), ages 30-39 (731), ages 40-49 (724), ages 50-59 (727), ages 60-69 (556), ages 70-79 (356), ages 80-plus (237).

Gender: So far, 2,204 of the cases are among women, or 52%, and 2,037 or 48%, are among men. Of those who have died, 65, or 42%, were women and 88, or 58%, were men.

Hospitalizations: At least 786 of the state’s COVID-19 patients, or 19%, have been hospitalized at some point during their illness, according to the health authority. Currently, 117 people hospitalized with confirmed or suspected, 50 of whom are confirmed. Of the confirmed cases, 19 are in intensive care beds and 13 are on ventilators. Among suspected COVID-19 cases, 14 are in intensive care and four are on ventilators.

Nationwide: Confirmed coronavirus cases stood at more than 1.7 million. The death toll climbed past 102,000.
