When Gov. Kate Brown announced last month that Oregonians would need to wear masks while visiting indoor public spaces, Charles Larson, an associate lead at a PetSmart store in Portland, asked his managers: Will our store enforce this rule?
His managers, Larson said, didn’t think so. In a group chat of employees, his district manager told them they couldn’t ask any customers to put on masks or put up signs asking them to do so.
