Kenny & Zukes Delicatessen will close its Northwest Portland bagel shop

Less than a month after announcing plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Kenny & Zukes Delicatessen will close its Northwest Portland bagel shop, owner Ken Gordon wrote on Facebook Thursday.

“We have lost our lease over at our Bagelworks shop and Bakery on NW Thurman,” Gordon wrote of the 10-year-old shop. “We tried to get a renewal for the last several months, but, alas, it was not to be.”

According to Gordon, bakery operations and some employees will be moved to Kenny & Zuke’s flagship downtown Portland deli at 1038 S.W. Harvey Milk St. An outpost at the Portland International Airport will also remain open.

Gordon told Willamette Week, which first spotted the Facebook announcement, that the closure was “unrelated” to the bankruptcy filing.

Visit Kenny & Zuke’s Bagelworks between now and Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2376 N.W. Thurman St.
