Oregon Ducks basketball guard Chris Duarte suffers knee injury against Memphis, not believed to be serious

Oregon basketball guard Chris Duarte left Tuesday night’s game against Memphis with an apparent right leg injury, but returned briefly to start the second half.

Duarte, a junior college transfer, went down following a foul by Memphis’ Precious Achiuwa with 5:12 to go in the first half. The 6-foot-6 junior was carried off the court by members of Oregon’s training staff and was unable to put any weight on his right leg, but came back at halftime with a sleeve on his right knee and started the second half but left after 54 seconds of No. 14 Oregon’s 82-74 win over No. 13 Memphis at the Moda Center.

“Chris I think has just got a bruise on his knee,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said. “I think he’ll be OK.”

Duarte had seven points, two rebounds and a block, all in the first half.
