EUGENE — Darrian Felix will continue his college career close to home.

The former Oregon running back and Fort Myers, Fla. native committed to transfer to USF Friday.

The move comes only three days after Felix, a redshirt-sophomore, entered the transfer portal.

He had 34 carries for 197 yards and two touchdowns and six catches for 78 yards while appearing in seven games this season, all career-highs. But he was clearly the No. 4 back on the depth chart behind CJ Verdell, Travis Dye and Cyrus Habibi-Likio and after 18 carries for 127 yards and two scores during the first three games, Felix didn’t play in two of the last three games and had just one carry for a loss of a yard during the Civil War.

USF loses its leading rusher from this season and will be overhauling its roster under new coach Jeff Scott, formerly the co-offensive coordinator at Clemson.
